Attorney Veronica J White Featured in New Report on Prosecutorial Misconduct

Case Outcome

According to a new investigation by the New England Center for Investigative Reporting:
Massachusetts prosecutors have violated defendants’ rights to a fair trial regularly and without punishment, even as wrongfully convicted victims of tainted prosecutions have spent years in prison before being freed, decades of court rulings show.
The investigation featured the role of prosecutors in the 1981 murder conviction of James J. Rodwell, whom is being represented by White & Associates in a motion for a new trial. For more details, see Prosecutors Who Break The Rules Go Unpunished, Leading To Unfair Trials And Unjust Imprisonment on WGBH's website and Wayward prosecutors go unpunished from the Cape Cod Times. Attorney Veronica White in the News for Defending Client Accused of Manslaughter

White & Associates' client Kevin Otto, the owner of Atlantic Drain Services, faces manslaughter charges after two of its workers drowned in a flooded trench. In Suffolk Superior Court yesterday, Attorney Veronica J. White argued for the case to be dismissed because there are too many unanswered questions about the infrastructure the men were working in, including how the hydrant was maintained. “We don’t know anything about uncharted territory, how the pipe was supported, what caused water to spill, and what caused the break,” said defense attorney Veronica White.
