Case Dismissed: Distribution of Cocaine
Case Outcome
John Doe was initially charged with a second subsequent narcotics distribution offense in the Brighton Division of the Boston Municipal Court in July 2017. Because of this charge, he was facing a potential indictment and 5 years mandatory in state prison.
Police arrested Mr. Doe for distributing a Class B substance while operating a motor vehicle with his license suspended. After the district attorney failed to indict Mr. Doe on a timely basis, Mr. Doe's case was reduced to a single distribution charge.
Attorney Veronica J White then filed and litigated discovery motions which included a motion to suppress all evidence against Mr. Doe.
After several missed court appearances by necessary police officers for a motion to suppress hearing, Attorney White urged the court to dismiss the case without prejudice.
The court agreed and all charges were dismissed without prejudice and John Doe was free to go.
