Case Dismissed: Armed Assault with Intent to Murder

John Doe was charged in Lawrence District Court with two counts of armed assault with intent to murder. Grand jury investigation was also pending against him. Lawrence police arrested Mr Doe after witnesses identified him as being involved in a shooting in broad daylight in a CVS parking lot in Lawrence. Based on the seriousness of these charges, Mr Doe was held with out bail.

Attorney Veronica J White‘s vigorous defense included discovery motions, a motion for an evidentiary hearing on dangerousness, and a bail review with the Salem Superior Court. Attorney White brought the lack of evidence against Mr Doe to the attention of the Salem Superior Court and the District Attorney decided to dismiss the case with a nolle prosequi.

Mr Doe was released and free to go after being held for several months without bail.
