John Doe was arrested and detained for allegedly stabbing a man in the abdomen in the Boston area in the morning of April of 2017. Due to the serious injuries sustained by the victim in this case, Mr. Doe was charged with assault with intent to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He was detained on a high bail awaiting trial.
Attorney Veronica J White filed a motion to dismiss based on a lack of probable cause to issue the complaint. Attorney White also filed a motion to suppress incriminating statements made by Mr. Doe to the Boston Police Department. Despite the serious injuries sustained by the victim, this case was not indicted and the assault with intent to murder charge was dismissed leaving Mr. Doe with fighting only the assault and battery with a dangerous weapon charge in the Boston Municipal Court.
Attorney White convinced the Commonwealth that they could not prove the case, and recommended they drop the charges. Subsequently, a judge dismissed the charges against Mr. Doe.
